This blog post is inspired by this anonymous contributor to modern Russian culture. This street has 2-3 inches of ice. I just passed (on my left) a car that was unable to make its way up the hill. This girl races past me wearing 7 inch heals and a mini-skirt as I cautiously inch my way back from the grocery store.
But she must look stylish because the area around the university looks so sombre:
And what other option does she have? The pedestrian pathways are no different:
And they are all cleaned with this:
(And pick-axes).
Meanwhile, on the other side of the city, a woman hangs her towels to dry.
And at home, I make some pizza: thanks to a recipe from a student, it has become a quick and easy dish (delicious too):
Meanwhile, the sun sets on boats on and off the water:
And I find my way to a concert where there are some incredibly amusing Russian sailors (singing and dancing):
When I left, I helped an elderly lady with large glasses and one tooth make her way down some icy steps to the bus stop.
